Here’s what I recommend that home sellers do in today’s market.
Selling a home is rarely a fun time. There’s usually a long laundry list of things that need to be fixed, especially if you want to get top dollar on your sale. It also disrupts your life, as you have to put a lot of things on hold while you try to find a buyer.
Many people wonder whether there are ways to speed up the process while also making it more effective, and there certainly are some things you can do. However, there’s still some work involved.
I usually meet with clients a few months before they want to list; I walk them through what they’d need to work on in order to get more eyes on their home and make more money on their sale. I make sure to share my list of preferred vendors as well, as these professionals can help upgrade or repair anything that needs to be fixed within the home. You can focus your energy on packing and decluttering while the pros can remove any out-of-date fixtures, paint walls, and make sure potential buyers fall in love with your home when they enter.
Still, some sellers who don’t want to put in the money, time, or effort into updating things around the home, and that’s perfectly fine. A good agent will still be able to market an as-is home and find a buyer. If they do want to get top dollar, however, then an experienced Realtor like myself will be able to help them figure out what needs to be done.
If you’re thinking about selling and would like to see how to make more on your sale, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to walk you through the steps you’d need to take in order to get the most out of your listing. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
